Whoa! Did you guys realize that this was the last challenge?? I had no idea! But, I think we all knew which 3 people would be showing in fashion week, so I'm glad they went ahead and auf'ed these two:





Christopher, poor guy. Did he think we would forget that he already made this outfit? Except that the last time he made it there were contrasting colors making it beautiful and unique? Here is the same design from a few challenges back:

Not to mention there was also the ol' disco pumpkin we saw earlier this season. Somebody loves flowy, halter tops, no? So sorry Christopher, you seem like a nice guy, but your lack of creativity got you in the end...






Also auf'ed this week: Gordana. Her simple style kept her 'in' week after week, and while this final dress was very pretty, it, like many of her other designs, lacked the wow-factor. I'm glad she was able to create this dress that so defined her, but it just wasn't quite enough to take the cake. And personally, I thought it looked like a vagina. (Am I wrong??)

So, I don't know about you guys but I thought that the "Michael Kors Inspiration Challenge" really lacked inspiration. In my opinion, none of the designs were really wow-ers. What did you guys think? I feel like we need an 'avant garde' challenge to really spice things up... hopefully next week. But lucky for us, though the show may be a bit drab recently, there are still fun things to enjoy in our fantasy league! You may remember that the wedding dresses like these:

Emily said...
I was the maid of honor at my best friend's wedding. She decided it was a good idea to give drunk people sparklers (yes, the fire-burning sticks) at the end of the reception to send the newlyweds on their way. Well, the best man was standing next to me and the hot, charred ember at the end of his sparkler fell into my cleavage and down my dress. The polyester-blend of the bridesmaid dress material quickly melted with the heat of the sparkler. I was trying to keep my composure in order to not ruin my best friend's 'moment,' but my boobs were on fire. Literally!! When others realized this, they began dousing my dress with drinks...alcoholic ones...which only made things worse. The paramedics were called and my dress was cut off of me by some hot (and I mean, HOT) firefighters. It was so embarrassing (and people were documenting the scene with the disposable cameras from the reception tables). Needless to say, I have a great story, and SCARS, to remember my best friend's wedding!!

I Am Beautiful, No Matter What They Say

There was a lot of glitz & glimmer tonight as the designers made an outfit for this "fashion icon":

Um... if they say so. While I can't say that I personally aspire to dress like Christina Aguilera (though I do own an outfit similar to the blue one above- but then, who doesn't?), I do think she has a pretty voice and I liked the idea of making a fun stage outfit for her. Besides, I don't want to just talk shit on this blog- I'm not Irina, after all. (Seriously, I found myself talking a lot of shit about her due to her talking shit about others. It was a vicious cycle. Anyone else partake in a similar pattern?) But anyway, I do have some positive things to say so here they are:

1. I do think Irina is a very good designer
2. I liked Tim Gunn's bright yellow/gold-ish tie
3. My favorite part of this episode was when they played sexy music while showing Carol Hannah & Logan together
4. Sometimes I really like Nicolas
5. Next week's preview showed Nina, Heidi & Michael Kors all together again!!

Divorcees to Divas

Epperson? Really?? Did they see what Logan made though? Or more accurately, what Logan safety pinned together? I have to say, I was on Team Logan tonight, but the judges' decision really left me stumped. Although I suppose this gives us more time to enjoy the love affair that is slowly developing between Logan & Carol Hannah! Yippee!

Another aspect that stumped me about this episode- was it the saddest challenge ever ("...and I've been divorced for 3 months...") or the most liberating? I'm voting saddest, as I can't imagine that many of those divorcees left FIDM feeling too hot about themselves, right? I mean, there was the Space Bubble Dress, 2 Oktoberfest outfits... I feel like I might be asking for a refund if I were those ladies. Then again, they signed up to have their wedding dresses revamped... for better or for worse... (Pun intended.)

Louise Has the Blues

I knew I complained about Michael Kors being gone for a reason... he's hilarious! And for a kind of boring challenge (or at least, I didn't think any of the designs were any big whoop,) he really spiced things up, like when he described this outfit as looking like it had "a shower loofah ruched up the front of it"

and that he came up with the "disco pumpkin" diss about this one:

I also want to say thank you to the Project Runway gods for letting Christopher stay on the show. That would have been just too heart breaking to have to watch him leave in tears, especially after he was so dang confident about his designs. I thought Louise was the right choice to have to leave the show. How about you guys??

What the what???!!!?? Ra'mon??? NO!!!!!!! True, this piece was not his best...



...but surely Ra'mon has proven that he's a better designer than to be auf'ed after just one weak design! I must say that if this season had consistent judges, they would have had a history with Ra'mon, and therefore would have been able to give him the benefit of the doubt that this was just an off week. Unfortunately, that's just not a luxury this show has to offer anymore!! And thus, so long Ra'mon. That was a good episode! Not too much drama but a good chance to see everyone's capabilities, and there were definitely some good outfits there! I have to say that I was disappointed at first to see that both Michael Kors & Nina Garcia were MIA but then the guest judges were S-A-S-S-Y! I especially liked when one of the judges called Logan cute and complimented his pants and sneakers... that was good stuff.

The Biggest Beach Bum gets the Boot

I don't know about you guys, but I realized we were in for a good show the moment I saw Tim Gunn's feet. I liked the way he kept his composure by wearing slacks and a jacket with his sandals. If that doesn't scream 'good fashion sense' - I don't know what does.



Anyhoo- So long Mitchell!! Whoot Whoot Ra'mon! Way to pull things together for your team! I thought the judges made some wise decisions tonight, although I would have liked to hear more commentary about this outfit:

I'm crossing my fingers that he's back by next week. And one final thought, I really liked Epperson and Qristyl's leaf-printed dress. What did you guys love/hate from this challenge??

Malvin's Rotten Egg

Seriously??? Mitchell made the shear snuggie followed by booty shorts and he's in?! Is there something fabulous about him that I'm missing? And I have to say I am a bit saddened to see Malvin go. Though the Mother Hen concept was a bit wacky (and for some reason felt mildly insulting?,) he does seem to be a creative thinker. Probably would have made for some good entertainment this season, but oh well.

Well, our group did some uneventful betting this week. We're all at an even score of one point! No one chose Shirin to win (which would have added 3 points) and no one, luckily, chose Malvin (which would have subtracted 3 points). This is not to say however, that many of us weren't sweating it during this episode! Ra'mon's bowling bag could have been a blow for many of us! But- we're all in the clear for now...

Hopefully next week's team challenge will bring a bit more drama and some movement within our league! 1) Heidi Klum is so drop dead gorgeous. She is the queen of my world.
2) They're going to have to keep Johnny on the show just to keep him off the streets.
3) Mitchell made himself a see-through snuggie, did he not??!...












Once he's off this show, he's a shoe-in at the snuggie factory.

As of now we have about 21 people playing, but it is not too late if anyone else wants to get involved, just as long as they place their bets before next week's show. With 21 people playing though, we're looking at a grand prize of $105! Decent turn around from the $5 to play.

Let the Games Begin!

Welcome to the Season 6 Project Runway Fantasy League! This league has been created for men and women alike who want to add some spice to an already great show! It costs only $5 to join, and the winnings will depend on the number of people who play, so spread the word! It doesn't matter if we know each other or not, all are welcome! Read on for details:

There are two ways to score points:

(1) After episode one (during which you'll have a chance to see all the designers in action), you will pick the one designer who you think will win the entire show. If this designer makes it to fashion week (one of the final 3 designers), you get 5 points. If your designer wins at Bryant Park (and thus wins the whole show), you get 10 additional points.

(2) After each episode (including the first), you will pick which designer you think will win the next week's challenge. This means you will be emailing me after each episode to place your bet for the following week. If your weekly pick wins, you get 3 points. If your pick does not win but is not eliminated, you get 1 point. If your pick is eliminated, you lose 3 points.

Before each show, I will post everyones' weekly picks so you'll see who your competition is among our group. Then after each show, I will compile everyones' points as mentioned above, and will post the points thus-far on this blog. At the end of the season, the player with the greatest number of points, wins!

By the way- we're working on the honor system here- please refrain from internet searches regarding season winners, etc. Just some clean ol' fashioned fun in this league, ok?
